Today, I set out to enhance the usability and SEO performance of the Plugin Services menu and footer navigation across the platform. After a long 22-hour day, I successfully shipped a series of updates that will improve the user experience and streamline navigation for visitors. Key features included showing the full BRON keyword set on every page, injecting the footer navigation correctly, and refining dropdown interactions.

One of the major changes I implemented was to ensure that the Plugin Services menu displays the entire BRON keyword set rather than just a subset relevant to the current page. This involved accumulating service-page links in a temporary cache for each domain, sorting them alphabetically, and ensuring consistency across all pages. The result is a more comprehensive and user-friendly navigation experience that enhances SEO by providing more pathways for search engines to crawl.

I also addressed a long-standing issue with the footer navigation. Previously, the footer menu was incorrectly nested within a copyright link, causing every click to redirect users back to the homepage instead of opening the intended dropdowns. By injecting the footer navigation after the copyright element, I resolved this frustrating user experience. It’s these small tweaks that can make a significant difference in usability, and I’m pleased to see this issue finally resolved.

Another enhancement I made was to the behavior of the Plugin Services dropdown. It now opens on click or tap, in addition to hover. This adjustment was necessary because the dropdown was not accessible on touch devices, where hover interactions do not work. Implementing this feature required some careful consideration of event handling, but I believe it greatly enhances the overall user experience for mobile users.

I also added a 300ms hide delay for the footer dropdown menus. Initially, moving the cursor from the trigger to the menu would cause the menu to disappear prematurely. With this fix, the dropdown now remains visible as users navigate from the trigger to the menu, reducing frustration and improving accessibility. These kinds of usability improvements are crucial as I aim to build a platform that not only performs well but is also intuitive to use.

The day wasn't without its challenges. I spent a considerable amount of time diagnosing the issues with the footer navigation and ensuring that the dropdown behavior was smooth across different devices. I had to iterate through several versions of the code to nail down the timing and positioning. It’s times like these that remind me of the complexities involved in building a robust platform solo. However, with the help of my AI tools, I was able to streamline the process and push through the hurdles more efficiently than I might have been able to on my own.

Reflecting on the work I accomplished today, I feel proud of the progress made toward my vision of a one-man-show company with a billion-dollar valuation. Each feature I ship brings me closer to that goal, and I’m continually reminded of the power of the agentic web and spatial AI in making my vision a reality. By leveraging AI as my team, I can focus on strategic enhancements while automating many operational tasks. This allows me to maintain momentum and keep pushing forward, even on days that stretch into the early hours.

As I wrap up today’s blogging, I’m excited to see how these updates perform in the wild. I’m confident they will enhance user engagement and improve the overall site structure, making it easier for visitors to navigate and find the information they need. Tomorrow, I plan to continue refining other areas of the platform, ensuring that every detail aligns with my overarching goal of creating a superior product in the agentic web space.
